Seeing Austin is the self-proclaimed Live Music Capital of the World™, they only play local artists. It’s actually quite nice.

I’ll wave when you fly over my house (assuming the winds are from the south).

as a man equipped with trumpeting skills I would have thought you just wandered through public spaces making your own muzak

When I was in music school, the voice majors were notorious for walking around the. music building singing. I wondered how they would feel if I walked around playing my trumpet.

I seem to recall there’s a nice WWII model airplane display in ATL.You may want to do some wandering.

My wife and I want to visit some family in the UK next year, and are seriously considering driving to Austin to fly out instead of Bush because the flights are far cheaper.

I’m chilling at the gate, watching all of f86sabre’s airplanes take off. I’m in my element. I’ll have more time to explore on my return flight Monday.

Austin is one of the fastest growing airports in the country. As you probably know, BA has a once-a-day flight to LHR. They started it with the 787, but then switched to a 744 or 777 since they had more business class seats.

Yeah I was eyeing those direct flights , which are convenient as I wanted to fly BA anyway. We just have to weigh whether its worth the 3 hr drive. I hear parking is pretty cheap though.

before performances I was often busted air-fingering the notes on a non-existent flute. something I had no idea I was doing, but clearly was occupying all the subconscious parts of my brain.

Parking options at AUS are greatly expanded these days. No idea on price though.

The muzak’s pretty solid there, although the poorly calibrated auto-flush toilets that always go off mid-deuce can still go straight to hell.

Those are a problem everywhere. They waste water. They need some sort of foot activation, or flush when you open the stall door.

“Manual flush or else” needs to be a movement, and I’m here to lead it straight into the crapper.

( We pay executive s to lead things into the crapper seven figures all the time, so I expect to be compensated heavily for this, BTW.)
